I have been around children all of my life, even when I was a child myself. I am the oldest out of four kids, and I am also the first grandchild to be born (on both my mom's and dad's sides of the family!). Whenever the grown ups needed some quiet time, they would put me in charge to watch the little ones. I have been paid to baby-sit my three younger brothers when I was in middle/high school, as well as taken care of neighbors' children for a few hours at a time. Pretty soon, I didn't get paid anymore because I baby-sat my brothers well into their teenage years. While I do not have children of my own, I have been told by other mothers that I am very good with kids. I am very cautious and alert when baby-sitting, especially if the child has special needs or is very young. I also do not yell or get frustrated when things are not going my way; it would only stress the child out and make them upset. I want to be a positive influence and set a good example for a child, without being too critical or harsh.
