I love children! I am a former teacher (k-12) with over 10 years of experience teaching. I also had a license, for family daycare for five years. I have worked as a part-time nanny in the Portland area for the last five years. I support parents with their lives by providing parents the best care possible for their children. I adore the interactions with children and I strive to encourage their continued curiosity with the world and intellectual growth and development. I value the attachment theory and use distraction and giving choices when faced with issues. Activities I love are: books and reading, making art, gardening, cooking, trips to local area playgrounds and museums, imaginary play, music, help with potty-training, fine and gross motor activities, and learning what interests each child has. I am certified in both First Aid and CPR. I have excellent references and common sense. My son is now 19 years old and in college.
