I love being around kids because they inspire me. Kids tend to focus on the positives in life, and are always impressed and awed by the world around them. Adults have much to gain by looking at the world through a child's eyes, as they are able to see many things we are not and remind us that there is beauty all around us. I also love working with children because I think it is so important to nurture a future generation, especially in tough times. They are the people who will one day shape the world we live in, and it is so important that they be well-educated, cared for, and raised to take an interest in the world around them.As for my experience, I have been baby-sitting since fifth grade, and I am now 23 years old. My baby-sitting experience ranges from a few hours of care at a time, to all-day care for multiple children at a time (including twins). I am very comfortable transporting and caring for children on outings to places like the zoo, aquarium, museum, park, etc. I also taught swim lessons for 15 hours a week to groups of kids at varying ability levels during three summers home from college. I do not currently have my CPR or First Aid certification, but have in the past and am very willing to renew it upon request. I also taught the CPR, First Aid, and a lifeguard course at my pool to a group of teens two summers ago.
Related Hobbies and Interests
I enjoy baking, being outdoors, cycling, yoga, and reading pretty much anything. I love doing "kid things" as well (the zoo, board games, the park, drawing, and painting), and reading stories.
