7:00PM (Monday)
I am 28 years old, my husband is 31, we have a 12-year-old son, a 18-month-old daughter and a puggle.
My husband works Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, from 7:00 p.m.- 7:30 a.m. He sleeps from 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m., then leaves at 6:00 p.m. for work. On Wednesday morning, he comes home from work, sleeps, and leaves for work at 2:30 p.m. to work at his part-time job. He is on-call from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Thursday (at the hospital, but it is very, very rare for him to get called in.). He often works on Friday mornings, from 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. And, he sometimes works on Saturdays. The Saturday shift can vary from three available shifts.
I, on the other hand, work three and a half hour shifts, which includes every other weekend (Saturday, Sunday) from 7:00 a.m.- 7:30 p.m. Weekends are set, but the rest of my schedule is not. Because of my random shifts, sometimes my husband is home with my daughter, while I am at work, and we do not need assistance, other times we work the same shifts, and require lots of help. Another thing I do is in October and November, I like to work flu shot clinics on every one of my days off. These shifts vary from two to six hours. I also am taking online classes working on my bachelor's degree. On days that I need to write papers, I really need someone to help me watch my daughter (I am taking till January off school at this time).
So in a nutshell, I need someone to watch my daughter while my husband sleeps until I get home from work.
There is one possibility. We have found 7:00 a.m.- 5:30 day care, one mile from our house. If we could find a single person, maybe college student or someone in need of a living situation, we could work out something where on Wednesdays (when we both work) that someone drops her off for us and when my husband gets called on Thursday, can be available to help us pick her up, as well as the help we may need on weekends.
We have an almost 13-year-old son who does not need any baby-sitting! Currently, my mom is living with us in our extra bedroom. She watches our daughter, but she is moving back to California. It is very scary to think of a stranger caring for your child, so we would want to meet with any prospective caregivers to make sure we are a good match for each other.
Thank you for your consideration.
