Approx. 8 hours A Week For 9 mo. Twins
Portland,
OR 97213
Starting on Nov 10, 2009 (Tuesday)
I live in NE Portland, and I'm looking for an excellent, experienced, professional, educated nanny for very part-time work (about 8 hours a week) with my twin boys, who are 9 months old now. I would like someone who is settled in the Portland area, and who is available for a 4 or 5 hour day on a weekday, and sometimes on Tuesday nights from 7-10 p.m. , after bedtime. Other than Tuesday night, my schedule is flexible, within the parameters of weekdays, from 10 a.m. -5 p.m. I am a bit of an oddity - I have no TV and little interest in popular culture. I cloth-diaper my babies, and they were born naturally and peacefully in my own home. I am not religious. I have two very furry cats, and one old and probably insane fish. I am a full-time mom, but would like a little time during the week to pursue my own needs and interests (such as sleep) without having to worry about my sweet kids. I will likely be in the house, but certainly not hovering, for much of the time I would want a nanny present.
Please, do not contact me if you are, say, 23 and claiming over 10 years experience. I want someone with plenty of professional experience with twins and babies/toddlers. I would hope that my nanny would be keenly interested in making my boys' lives interesting and pleasant, rather than a babysitter who simply will ensure that they don't choke on something or burn the house down.
I would expect some light housekeeping connected with child-care (washing bottles, wiping down the highchairs, picking up toys, putting away clean diapers - but I wouldn't expect you to do the diaper wash itself.
I would be willing to pay a qualified person $16/hr, after a trial period of a few months at $15/hour. I am willing to negotiate, and would sign a contract.
