I am a mother of two grown boys and the grandmother of an infant. I've had my own home day care for several years. Additionally, I've worked as a preschool teacher for four years, followed by serving as the administrator of the same school. I've taught pre-kindergarten four and pre-kindergarten five classes using the A Beka curriculum. My duties also included performing academic and behavioral assessments of my students. I adore children of all ages from infant to adolescent. I am laid back and easygoing, not easily ruffled and quickly able to establish a loving rapport with the children in my care. Those children feel relaxed and nurtured in my care and yet, I feel capable of maintaining structure and order to their daily routines at the same time. I have disdain for corporal punishment, preferring re-direction and discussion instead. When parents share preferences as to family values and child care philosophies, I support them. Children and I have tremendous fun together, sharing both affection and mutual respect. The relationship I wish to establish with a family will be ongoing and long term, leaving the parents feeling comfortable and safe knowing that I am focused solely on their child's needs. I can either live-in or commute daily. I have excellent references as well. I have not listed them online to protect those families' privacy. I will be more than happy to provide them at the time of an interview. I have privately obtained an official state of Indiana criminal background check. Additionally, as a former foster parent, I have had a national FBI fingerprint check, a CPS abuse/neglect and a sex offender registry check.
