How to Make Hairy Spider Cookies
Blogger Bridget Edwards shows a simple way to spice up Halloween as part of the Care.com Interview Series
A self-taught cookie decorator, Bridget Edwards began her blog, Bake at 350, in 2007 to share the secrets to decorating cute cookies. Her hairy-legged spider cookies have both the cute and creepy factors covered for Halloween! Just make a simple outline, fill with royal icing, shake on some chocolate sprinkles, and you're ready for a spooky and delicious Halloween treat!
Degree of Difficulty: Intermediate
Ingredients/Materials:
- Sugar cookies cut into a spider shape with a cookie cutter
- Royal icing in brown and white (Bridget used AmeriColor Chocolate Brown mixed with Super Black for the brown and Bright White for the white)
- Decorating tips in #2, #1 and #7
- Disposable piping bags
- Squeeze bottles
- Toothpicks
- Chocolate jimmies
