How to Make a Recycled Tube Collage
Crafter and Art Teacher Melissa Jordan makes art out of the recycling bin as part of the Care.com Interview Series
Melissa Jordan, whose creative crafts abound in her blog, The Chocolate Muffin Tree, does more than just recycle her paper towel and toilet paper tubes. The former art teacher finds a way to make art out of just about anything in the house, and if you're looking for a fun, simple way of getting your kiddos' creative juices flowing without spending a lot of money at the craft store, look no further than this fun, earth-friendly collage project!
Supplies:
Degree of Difficulty: Easy
Ages: 3 and up
Instructions:
First, cut your tubes into different sizes and shapes. You may even cut some tubes apart so they don't even resemble tubes.
Then take your cereal box cardboard as a base to glue all your tube shapes on to create a dimensional collage. Let the collage dry overnight and paint it the next day. Beautiful results!
