I was most recently a live-in nanny for six months for a medical and military family and cared for their 1-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter. I worked as a teaching aide with Head Start for almost 4 years. The classroom consisted of 18 children, 3 to 5 years old. Prior to Head Start, I worked one-on-one with four to seven children in an after-school psycho/social program. Being around children of any age brings such joy to me. It is my goal to instill self-esteem and self-acceptance into every child, so that they may always believe in themselves and be compassionate for others and the world around them. I believe loving and nurturing a child is important, but I also believe that rules and consistency are necessary in helping a child learn to make good choices and to be responsible for their choices. After having two of my own children and a grandson, I feel I am experienced with all ages. I like to laugh and have fun with children and allow them to be kids! I believe life is a blessing, and it is meant to be enjoyed!
