I am currently a full-time nanny for a wonderful family and I love what I do. Formerly I was a nanny for a family for three years. I cared for a newborn girl and a 3-year-old toddler. My duties included: taking the toddler to preschool, preparing meals for the children and taking kids on fun outings (such as the local zoo, museum, church and shopping trips). I did light housekeeping relating to the children and helped with the children's cognitive, behavioral and social development. I changed and provided hygiene for the kids to include: diaper changing, teaching teeth brushing, coordinating clothes and brushing hair. I picked up the toddler from school at about noon and developed scheduled activities to promote teamwork (and sharing between the siblings). I also worked at a psychiatric treatment center for kids with special needs. I worked alongside psychologists, therapists and clinicians (to help develop the most appropriate and suitable program plans for individuals). They had a vast array of mental disabilities. I assisted the clients in achieving personal and psychological growth. I implemented the award and incentive program to help clients achieve optimal results. I provided emotional support for these individuals by taking them out on therapeutic outings such as the zoo, church and the park. I assisted individuals in feeling integrated in society by teaching them social norms and taking them to social events. I administered medications to individuals, noted daily progress via written progress notes and submitted them into their charts. I monitored progress of the patients, relapses of patients, medication reactions and submitted observations to the client's psychologist. I provided physical care to the patient by assisting with grooming, color coordination and hygiene.
