My name is Paige, and I am a 20-year-old sophomore at Houston Baptist University. I am a psychology and child development major, seeking my teacher certification. I enjoy working with children very much. I worked at Montessori School for eight months, in the primary care unit (ages 3 years old-5 years old). In high school, I was in the P. A. L. Program (Peer Assistant Leadership). In order to be accepted into the program, you must be nominated by multiple teachers, and go through an interview process. This program appoints you as a mentor to two or more children (ranging from kindergarten to 7th grade) and you pay weekly visits to the schools to be with your "PAL". I was also actively involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America program, where I had a "Little Sister"- age 7 years old. I am very passionate about working with children. I am available for work next semester (spring 2009). Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I get out of my last class at 2 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday I am finished at 4:45 p.m.
