I have a few guy friends who are great with kids and very responsible, but people would not hire them because they were men.

My nephew did amazingly better in pre-school once he had a male teacher, versus just all female teachers. We have one male teacher at the daycare I work at, and the children respond so differently to him. He's simply amazing, and is probably one of our best teachers there!

I just got hired as a "manny" for two boys, and I've been an advisor for a high school youth group for the past year. I'm not going to write an essay, but one big difference with me is that I take them out for athletic activities much more often than their past care givers.

I wish I could find a male nanny, simply for what Jonathan just said. That is what I do with my son on a daily basis. With his dad mostly absent, a male nanny would be awesome.
