I have been caring for children since I was 12 years old. I have a B.S. Degree in Communication Disorders and Theater. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2003 and taught a Montessori combined pre-school and kindergarten classroom for two years. After I resigned from the pre-school, I took a position working as a nanny for a newborn boy and his two older pre-school/kindergarten-age brothers. I joined AmeriCorps in 2007, in Denver, CO and held a position as a health aide where I taught over 300 Head Start and school-age students about health issues and topics. While in Denver, I provided child care for a family with a set of 2-year-old twin daughters and another family with a 1-year-old daughter. This year, I am finishing up my second year of service in AmeriCorps where I work in Milwaukee Public Schools with mostly middle school-age children. I will be moving back to Denver at the end of the summer to begin graduate school at the University of Denver where I will work towards my MSW to become a school social worker. My current AmeriCorps position will be completed at the end of June so until then, I will only be available in the late afternoons/nights and on the weekends. After June 30th, I will be available all day and evening Monday-Sunday. If you are looking for someone for the summer, I would love to help out!
