I will be moving back to the Chicago area the first week of September to continue working towards my degree from Columbia College Chicago as a sophomore, and would love the opportunity to provide child care for a family. Growing up, I always helped to raise children and have found it to be very rewarding and exciting. I have a brother nine years younger than me whom I have helped care for throughout his life. I also have two older sisters, each of which have a total of five children. I have had a lot of experience baby-sitting their children over the years. Many times, I baby-sat overnight and on short notice. I have also had some experience baby-sitting for my sister's friends who have young children. I also worked for a woman during a spring break in high school who ran a day care out of her home. During the summers of 2005 and 2007, I volunteered at Dayton's Children's Medical Center. This was one of the most rewarding opportunities that I have ever been given. This past summer, I worked in the children's department of a department store in my hometown of Dayton, Ohio, where I was in charge of organizing and putting together a children's fashion show along with other activities for kids days which allowed me to work with many different children. I really enjoy working with children because I feel as though I can really connect with them. I think that it is vital for a child to have a positive, older person to look up to in their life. At family events, you can find me playing with, and entertaining the children. Although I have not had much professional experience with an agency, I do not feel that credentials necessarily determine whether or not one has a passion, understanding or ability for children.

I love any form of video games, especially Mario. I have also recently began playing the Wii. Scrapbooking is another one of my passions. I really love any form of arts and craft activities, and swimming.
