I have always had a love for children. I started being a "mom's helper" when I was about 12 for the neighbor down the road for their little 2-year-old. I moved on to a volunteer at a daycare in my hometown, where I later received a job at when I was 14. I worked at this daycare for about 2 years plus another 2 years where I was a volunteer. After this daycare, I moved to one that was closer to my high school and worked there in all age groups from 6-week-olds to school age children. I spent my after school hours here and two summers here as well. When I started college in 2007, I came back over my breaks and summer as well and worked. While in college at Kirkwood Community College from '07-'09 I worked at Kids Inc. Here I also worked in various rooms of different ages, but mainly in the ones. I am waiting on my AA from Kirkwood in Early Childhood Education and am currently a student at UNI. While at Kirkwood, I did my Field Experience in a Pre-K classroom that I absolutely loved which made me decide that kindergarten/early elementary grades are what I want to teach someday! This past summer I babysat 4-5 times a week, all day, for a family who had a 1 and 3-year-old. I absolutely loved it and miss them now that I am not right down the road from them! (Every weekend I am home I am sure to stop by and visit them though)! Now that I am in Cedar Falls I am working at Blessed Beginnings in the 4 and 5-year-old rooms and am loving it. I love all age groups! I am currently going to UNI for a major in Elementary Education but while I pursue my degree I want to keep being involved in children of various ages!

I enjoy teaching children new things from songs to physical activities. I can cook a meal, as long as it isn't too big but I'm definitely no top chef. I am willing to pick up around the house and do laundry as well.
