I have had years of experience working with children. I began baby-sitting as a teen and recently left a job in Naples, FL where I was working with the Florida Department of Children and Families through a non-profit organization called Family Preservation Services of Florida. My position there was a family support worker. My job was to spend time with foster children, supervise their visits with the non-custodial parent, take the children to their medical and psychological doctors' appointments, and sometimes I simply baby-sat. The children I worked with were considered children with special needs because of their home/family situations with abuse or neglect. I've worked with children newborn to 18 years old. I am currently a student at Bluefield State College studying social science and psychology in hopes of becoming a counselor to abused children.
