I am currently a 27-year-old stay-at-home mother. I have a 12-year-old step-son and a 1-year-old son. My previous employment with Community Support Services and Easy Living as a Missouri C. N. A. required the care of elderly and people with physical and mental disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy, and also a quadriplegic. The duties required were housekeeping, meal preparation, passing medication and administering insulin shots, transferring them from one place to another by gate belt, bathing and dressing each client, along with other activities of daily living. I have also cared for people through (C. I.) Community Integration. During my C. I. time, I would take the client out to go shopping, pay bills, and even take them to different places of entertainment. I have been C. M. A. and C. P. R. certified but these certifications currently need renewed. The reason I am choosing to work a part-time job in child care is because I love children and I want to expand my work experience.
