I spent four summers as a full-time manny for a certain couple and their two children. It was the best job I could have asked to fall into my lap as a high school student, as it taught me patience and love. The two children are like younger siblings to me, and I regularly check in with them and their "new baby sitter" I helped them find. It was the most difficult job at times and also the most rewarding. I baby-sat during the school years for the couple, and many many other couples since I was 11. I now live in Austin and need to find a "real job," but am trying to continue to do what I love. I love children because of their innocence and infinite ability to love and learn. I am a very good nanny or baby sitter because I do not give into the whims of children and set firm boundaries from the beginning of the relationship. I find that even the youngest of children automatically give me more respect when I set and hold to the rules, and have never found that I am then "disliked."

I love doing arts and crafts, cooking, and reading books. I plan getting a PhD in Psychology or Sociology and hope to work with adolescent girls. I am very interested in child development and education reform, as well.
