My name is Genevieve S. I am 21 years old and attend Gainesville State College. This fall I am graduating with a two year degree in Spanish Education and I plan on pursuing a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. :) I have had a love for children ever since I can remember, and have had a passion for working with them from a very young age. (My little brother and sister are 8 and 10 years younger than I, so needless to say I have plenty of experience from age 8 and on with caring for kids).
I have been coaching youth cheerleading for about six years now. I have coached ages 5-11 and have had wonderful experiences with it so far.
I have participated in Vacation Bible School with two different organizations as a teacher, which acted as a catalyst for my passion for kids. One of my most memorable and powerful experiences with teaching children was through an organization called Friends Of Refugees, located in Clarkston, Georgia. I was privileged enough to provide tutoring help, guidance, and love to the children of the refugee community in Clarkston. For two weeks I was a camp counselor and teacher for children ages 6-14. It was then that I knew for sure that teaching children was something I wanted to pursue and enjoy for the rest of my life.

I would love to nanny as an occupation while I take night classes to finish up my teaching degree. Although I have six years of experience with the restaurant industry, and have been working as a "wench" at Medieval Times since April of 2008, I would love to do work with my true passion, children. As they say, it is not work if you love what you are doing. :)

I am passionate about serving in my church, 12stone, and am currently in leadership in Water's Edge, the church's college ministry. I have been in leadership since fall of 08. (I received the church's first "Undeniable Leadership" award.)

I am Cuban, my first language was Spanish. I love the language and would be open to teaching some to the children under my care.

Serving in church, coaching, reading, writing, staying active, the outdoors, music of any kind, attempting to be creative, any kind of art, singing, leading and loving.
