Sara C. - Atlanta Babysitter

Profile of Sara C.

Full-Time, 10 + Years of Experience

I have been baby-sitting for 10 years. I love taking care of children and helping them develop new skills.

I was a member of a campus organization called the Playgroup while in college. This organization connects families with qualified baby sitters. Through the Playgroup, I found two regular (weekly) jobs. I have been with one of these families for nearly three years. They have three young girls ages 3 months, 2, and 4. My previous job was also through the Playgroup. I worked for this family for almost a year, until my class schedule no longer coincided with their needs. My responsibilities for these jobs have included preparing meals, changing diapers, helping with homework, and afternoon carpool.

I decided to start baby-sitting because I enjoyed being around children. I had often helped to take care of my little sister and other children even before I started baby-sitting. I began baby-sitting when I was 13 years old and I participated in a 4-H baby-sitting class. I mostly worked for families in my neighborhood and family friends.

During high school, I also taught ballet and other dance classes to children ages two to 13. Through this, I gained experience working with larger groups of children. I loved this job because it combined two of my favorite things: children and dancing. I have also tutored math, reading, and spelling to younger children since I was 10 years old.

I have a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology. While this may not seem relevant to child care, I did take a developmental psychology course that has helped me to better understand children and how they develop physically as well as mentally and emotionally.

I value honesty, integrity, compassion, and punctuality. I care about the well-being of other people and enjoy spending time volunteering in an emergency care center. I am always on time; I do not like to make people wait for me. Family is also important to me and I enjoy spending time with my family as often as possible.
Related Hobbies and Interests
I have tutoring experience and would be happy to help with homework or other academic needs. I took dance classes until I started college and even taught some dance classes for children.
