I am a wilderness instructor who has worked with children ages 10 - 17 who have special needs, learning disabilities and behavioral issues. In the past six years, I have worked throughout Georgia for families seeking exceptional childcare. My childcare experiences have entailed the following:

*Provided safe and fun environment for children under my supervision,
*Administered First Aid
*Prepared meals, activities and planned field trips
*Organized, managed households and volunteered in schools
*Supervised children social interaction and conflict resolution
*Offered emotional and psychological support
*Tutored children from K-12 and assisted with homework assignments

My longest post with a family was three years. I worked for a family with six children, ages infant to 16 years of age.

I cooked, cleaned, tutored, grocery shopped, managed household, picked-up/dropped-off, and provided swimming supervision. I traveled, provided newborn mother care and a whole lot more. I also worked with children in an elementary school setting teaching environmental and cultural education. I enjoy working with children. I look forward to facilitating experiences that will help young children acquire new knowledge, develop skills and discover their values.

It is important to me to engage in meaningful, purposeful and rewarding experiences with children as they discover themselves, their environment and the world. I do my best to include creative activities that are age appropriate. I am patient and fun. Children are inspiring to be around and I feel that each child has something unique to offer. I have a B. S. in wilderness leadership and experiential education. I can offer my experiences to families that are interested in alternative learning, home school and just experiencing the wilderness.

I am an avid gardener and outdoors woman. I enjoy reading books, watching films, spending time with friends and family or just sitting alone. I love music and art. I love to travel and do so as much as I can. The older I get, the less I travel.
