While studying child development, I was a student teacher for children ages 4 - 5 at an early childhood center and worked for two years as a teacher for children ages 4 - 13 at a church, both in Bronxville, NY. I have also tutored elementary school students one-one-one and in small groups in math, reading, writing, and social studies. In an after school program in Yonkers, NY, I tutored bilingual children in both English and conversational Spanish. I have studied Spanish, Italian, French, and American Sign Language and have basic proficiency in all.

For two years, I worked as a counselor at a camp for children with blindness and visual impairments; I served as a sighted guide and was trained to address visual impairment in everyday situations. I was additionally responsible for campers (ages 5 - 21) with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities and health concerns, from diabetes to paralysis, nonverbal/muteness to hearing impairments.
