I have been care giving now for 5 plus years and have had many other types of work and education in the field. In high school I was a candy striper for the local nursing home, and worked in a daycare with infants to pre-first grade children. I was selected among my peers as a peer counselor. My recent experience is with dementia and adults/youth with mental and physical disabilities. I have learned that a helping hand, a positive reinforcement can make a world of difference in someone's life. My long term goal is to further my education by going to school for my CNA 1 and working up to a MA. and to keep pursing the health care field and finding enjoyment and fulfillment in helping others in their daily lives.
