Hello. I am a former certified teacher and nonprofit executive who is now looking for the flexibility and intense rewards of a care career. I take great pride in caring for children and seniors, since it is important for me that people in all stages of life enjoy safety, joy, compassion, dignity, and respect.

I have worked with youth in many facets since 1995 and have helped train other adults in educational, developmental, and program development with children. Motivated by my close relationship with my grandparents, I began volunteering with seniors in my youth. Over the last 10 years, I have watched family and friends struggle with the challenge of raising children and caring for elderly and ill parents- both in facilities and through home health care. From these, I have experience caring for people with dementia, cancer, Alzheimer's, diabetes, and stroke aftercare.

Respect for all stages of life, from facilitating young discovery to the mellowed wisdom and quest for meaning in later life, is an important part of my philosophy of care. I am well-versed in developmental and educational psychology and I have used guiding principles from Maslow in developing past programs.

I am open to a number of different care opportunities. I have a very adored son in kindergarten and being available for him is another huge part of my motivation to move out of the corporate world into a less traditional schedule. I am currently available from 9-2:30 and again from 6-10 p.m. I can also explore other arrangements based on your needs, and would be very open to caring for an infant/child in my home during the day or for some evenings and date nights. One important note: I am an adamant non-smoker and unfortunately I find it almost impossible to work in smoking homes due to allergies. I do, however, enjoy cooking and light housekeeping.

I will work with you to make sure that we set objectives and standards of care and communication, so that you feel secure and deeply involved with the care that your loved one receives.
