What's your go-to recipe for a quick, easy dinner?

Quick, easy dinner usually consists of a home-made hamburger helper.

1 lb. ground beef
1 box pasta of your choice (I prefer small shells or bowties)
3 oz. shredded cheese (I use either italian blend or mexican blend)
1-6 oz. bag frozen vegetables of your choice
1-10 oz. can cream of (mushroom, celery or chicken) soup
1/4 cup milk

Follow the package directions on how much water to set to boil for your pasta and get that started. While you wait for it to boil, brown the ground beef in a skillet. Add salt, pepper and any other spices you choose. I often use italian spice or Mrs. Dash. Drain excess fat. Add bag of frozen vegetables to meat and heat on low for about 5 minutes. Set aside. Add pasta to water after it comes to a rapid boil and cook according to package directions. After you have drained your pasta DO NOT rinse with cold water. Add the meat and vegetable mixture to your pasta. To that add your can of soup and milk. Stir until well blended. Turn heat to low and as the mixture begins to warm, add cheese. Stir until cheese begins to melt.

With that you have your very own, home-made hamburger helper. It is a very quick and simple meal and seeing as how you get to add your own flavors and vegetables, it is likely to be a great hit. I know my kids like it more than the boxed, name brand stuff.

Thank you for this receipe. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease in May of this year so I'm no longer eating gluten. Receipes like this make it easy for me to substitute the foods I can eat (gluten free pasta & gluten free cream of mushroom soup).

Thanks again,
Stacy

Quick and easy -
1. pasta with puree'd veggie + tomato sauce
2. Rice and chickpeas
3. Rice and beans
4. cutlets - puree several veggies, add flour/bread/gram flour is another great flour to try. shallow fry like burgers. add minced meat instead if you want.
